International Hockey Goal

For years, RMA has supplied Hockey Goals for international tournaments, including events such as World Cups, Champions Trophy, Commonwealth Games and even the Olympic Games, and pioneered for over a decade the introduction of a genuinely robust Aluminium goal in the Hockey community.

Over the last 12 months, we have had further success with the new European designed goal, which has proven to be of the highest standard, but brought the pricing back to rival the steel Hockey goals of the past.

The new aluminium goal doesn’t compromise on design or materials. It still features a custom goal frame extrusion designed to withstand the fiercest strikes, and it still includes the latest free hanging net support that is favoured for high level completion. It still includes the aluminium backboards covered with high impact, shock absorbing rubber and wheels for manoeuvrability.

However unlike before, we now hold stock in Australia so we don’t need to bring them in across the world and can pass on significant savings as a result.

Our most popular enquiry at the moment about backyard games courts, an area at home that families can go to and play a multitude of different activities all in the safety, convenience and comfort of your own home.

Backyard Games courts are extremely popular in other countries, and are increasingly being asked after in this region as a convenient alternative to counter increasing screen time and issues related to our decreased physical activity.

Home based Games courts often host codes such as Basketball, Netball, Tennis, Volleyball, Soccer, and even bikes and skateboards. Locally, we have seen more than one 4 square court, and even the odd Cricket set up!

RMA’s range of products to suit these Games Courts include the PowerGame surface, which can be supplied as a DYI if required and instantly transform a back yard into a sporting arena, and a range of games posts including Basketball Goals, Netball Posts, Tennis Posts and Nets, Soccer Goals (including iGoals) etc.

Wellington Indoor Sports Centre

Wellington’s new regional indoor sports centre opened late in 2011 and is now in full swing. RMA were delighted to have been able to assist with a premium fit out of indoor equipment.

Now the premier venue in New Zealand’s capital city for indoor sports, the selection of the sports equipment they used was critical and RMA was able to assist with FIBA certified international Basketball systems that attach to the ceiling from Porter, along with the latest indoor Dividing Curtains, scoreboards from Australia and Multisport Posts, Futsal goals and even Korfball posts in aluminium from Europe.

With a 12 court capacity, the centre is one of the largest in the Oceania region and a stunning site as you approach Wellington’s airport.

Fibreglass Football Posts

RMA has withdrawn fibreglass Football posts from our range after some concerns have arisen though customer feedback.

It has long been commented that fibreglass Rugby and AFL flex more than other materials, but we also have maintained concerns about the potentially dangerous seam down the back of these goals, and the potential health risks of the glass fibres which can be an irritant to humans.

We apologise for the inconvenience, but will look to work with specialists to ensure any future product is more fit for purpose.

Tennis Net Time

With the summer holidays upon us, thoughts of many turn to holiday fun and relaxation. Often this turns to tennis, and every year there is a last minute rush to get a new tennis net to replace the old one that is falling apart on the court outside.

Tennis Nets generally last around 5 years depending on the model after which time they start to rapidly fall apart due to the UV rays in our environment. While we have ample Tennis Net stock at the moment, it is advisable to beat the rush and order early if you expect to need a new net this holiday season.

Budget Tennis Posts

The new Essentials budget Tennis Posts are now in stock and in time for the summer! Tennis remains one of the most popular recreational sports across the region, and these new budget Tennis Posts increase the ease of use and safety of Tennis courts.

The Essentials Tennis Posts incorporate a safety external winder but unlike old designs, these posts have a vertically oriented attachment. This allows the Tennis Nets to be installed directly up to the post uprights as per the rules, and for the net cable to go across the top of the posts before they go onto the winder mechanism.

These Budget Tennis Posts are designed to be installed in sleeves, have a removable handle and a durable black powered coated finish.

The RMA range of premium Basketball systems is proving to be particularly popular with enthusiastic home owners and Basketball associations alike.

With the 3 tiered range starting with the Dominator, then rising up through the Ultra and Pro options, there is a system for every level no matter the requirement.

These systems all incorporate transparent backboards, and easy height adjustment, and are made from heavy duty steel and are robust enough to stand serious play.

Product Upgrades

In recent times, we have as per our policy of continual development upgraded and superseded a number of products, particularly in our Basketball range.

The BB600 and BB600R with their old timber backboards have been replaced by the BBESO Essentials Outdoor system. This new design includes an extremely heavy duty Fibreglass backboard for longer life and more consistent rebound, and is engineer certified for use in a wide range of areas including cyclone rated where the BB600 systems were not able to be used.

The BB735 and BB735R systems have also been replaced by the BNB24 product. the BNB24 also includes the same fibreglass backboard, but also has an extremely heavy duty double rim goal for additional vandal resistance, milled in net holders for safety and has an oversize 141 mm diameter pole instead of the BB735 unit's 115 mm for additional rigidity. The system also includes a nylon disk to aid in easy reversibility.

PowerGame completions

A number of new PowerGame installations have recently been completed and more on on the way. Hunter Christian College recently finished the installation of 2 multisport courts under COLA as a guided install, and they look fantastic, adding great colour and comfort to the area.

Further south, another local Basketball and Netball associations in conjunction with the local council installed 4 new Basketball / Netball courts in Blue and Grey, complete with catchy logos down the side. The court surface was completed in half a day by local members and then line marked, and is set to become the benchmark for courts in the region.
