When designing outdoor spaces, especially in regions with harsh weather conditions, architects across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific know the importance of choosing robust, high-performance sports systems. Whether it’s for an urban park, a bustling schoolyard, or a high-end sports facility, the basketball systems you specify need to be as resilient as the environment they’re in. That’s where RMA Sport comes in, with a range of heavy-duty basketball systems engineered to excel in the most demanding conditions.

For public spaces, schools, and recreational facilities, the Heavy-Duty Reversible Basketball/Netball System is a game-changer. Designed to withstand the roughest environments, this system is certified to exceed cyclone conditions, making it ideal for areas prone to extreme weather. When you specify a system like this, you ensure your project can endure the elements and provide a safe, long-lasting sports solution.
The flat pack design ensures easy transport and installation, which is particularly beneficial for remote or large-scale projects. Additionally, protective padding is available to enhance safety and prolong the system’s lifespan. The 50mm fibreglass backboard is rot-resistant and features a bolt-free face, ensuring consistent rebounds and reducing the need for maintenance over time.
One of the key features of this system is the repositionable netball ring, allowing for flexible usage. The standard 2400 projection, which can be customised to meet specific requirements, provides versatility in different settings. With an oversized 141mm hot-dip galvanised post, this system is built for durability, and the lockable sleeve with nylon pivot guide disc offers enhanced stability during intense play. In short, this basketball/netball system is designed to handle whatever the environment and players throw at it.

Another exceptional option for architects designing outdoor sports areas is the Heavy-Duty Basketball System. Like the reversible system, this model is certified to exceed cyclone conditions, making it an excellent choice for regions with challenging weather patterns.
The flat pack design simplifies transportation and installation, which is especially advantageous for large or remote projects. The 50mm fibreglass backboard is not only resistant to rot but also features a bolt-free face for consistent play and minimal maintenance. With standard projections of 1200mm and 2400mm available, this system can be tailored to suit your project’s specific needs.
Durability is a top priority here, with an oversized 141mm hot-dip galvanised post ensuring the system’s longevity, and a direct burial installation providing additional stability. For enhanced safety, protective padding is available, offering a layer of security for players.

For those who want a more high-end and genuine basketball feel, the Pro Basketball System is the ultimate choice! Height adjustable and therefore suitable for all ages.
One of the standout features of this system is the height-adjustable backstop, which offers a 3050 to 2280 mm height range. This allows the system to accommodate various age groups and competition levels, making it highly versatile. The 1200 mm clearance from post to board adds an extra layer of safety, allowing for fast-paced play without compromising security.
The stadium design Quick-Connect® mounting system ensures ease of installation while maintaining the system’s robustness. The full-size armour glass backboard with a steel frame provides maximum durability, while the specially formed arms and hidden torsion braces enhance strength without sacrificing aesthetics. For added safety, padding kits are also available, protecting players during high-intensity games.
When it comes to outdoor sports systems, certification is more than just a label—it’s a guarantee of quality, safety, and performance. Certified systems, like those offered by RMA Sport, have undergone rigorous testing to ensure they meet or exceed industry standards. This is especially important in regions like Australia and New Zealand, where extreme weather conditions can put significant strain on outdoor installations.
By specifying certified sports systems in your projects, you are ensuring that the equipment can withstand the elements, reducing the likelihood of damage or failure. This not only protects your investment but also ensures the safety of the players using the equipment. Certified systems are also designed with performance in mind, meaning they provide consistent, reliable play over time, whether in a schoolyard, public park, or professional arena.
Moreover, using certified systems can enhance the reputation of your projects. Clients, whether they are educational institutions, local councils, or private developers, appreciate knowing that their facilities are equipped with the best and safest options available. By choosing certified systems, you’re demonstrating a commitment to quality, safety, and long-term value.
